Dr Cyrlene Claasen, a Namibian-French professor and Eiffel Excellence Scholarship laureate, holds a PhD in CSR and matters of legitimacy in hybrid institutional environments. She teaches CSR, sustainability, global-mindedness and intercultural intelligence, with research spanning renewable energy, controversial conservation practices such as trophy hunting, inclusive HR strategies, and the role of African youth and women in education and social transformation. Strongly aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals—especially Goals 4, 5, 9, 10, 13, 15, 16, and 17—she integrates them into both teaching and practice. A former political specialist and diplomat, Cyrlene also participated in a consultancy for an international mining client on stakeholder engagement across Africa. As a member and speaker at the Africa Future Leaders Institute of Global Affairs (AFLIGA), she continues to advance sustainability, equity, and innovation across African and global contexts.
