Dr Akanksha Jalan is an Associate Professor of Finance and Accounting. She earned her Ph.D. in Finance and Control from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. She is also a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Prior to joining RSB, she was an Adjunct Professor of Accounting at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and the Woxsen School of Business, Hyderabad.

Her research interests revolve around cryptocurrencies, gender diversity in the workplace and corporate tax avoidance. She has also published a case study titled ‘When the beans got spilled: The tragic case of Café Coffee Day’ in the Emerging Market Case Studies.

She has experience teaching classes at different levels (graduate, postgraduate, executive), including at the Rennes School of Business. She has published in leading journals including the Journal of Business Ethics, Economics Letters, Finance Research Letters, Research in International Business and Finance, Applied Economics and the European Journal of Finance, among others. She is also the Finance section editor at Heliyon, a Cell Press/ Elsevier journal. She was awarded the Teaching Excellence award for her Masters course in International Taxation in the year 2024.
