Dr Roman Matkovskyy is Associate Professor of Finance at Rennes School of Business. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Kyiv National Economic University, Ukraine (nostrified Doctor of Economic Sciences degree from Poland). Prior to joining RSB, he held academic positions in Ukraine, South Africa, and Germany, and served in various leadership roles at RSB, including, Academic director, Programme Director, and Director/Co-Director of the research centre “Financial Market and Corporate Outcomes”.
His research focuses on digital finance, with particular interest in cryptocurrency markets, systemic risk, financial market interdependencies; AI. He has published in leading journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, Economics letters, International Review of Financial Analysis etc. He is an Associate Editor of the International Review of Financial Analysis and the International Review of Economics & Finance, and serves on editorial boards for several journals. He has been involved in multiple international projects and grants, including research funded by Nasdaq NF and Region Bretagne. He has contributed to media outlets such as Le Monde, Harvard Business Review France, and Raconteur, providing insights on finance and digital assets.
